Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***Update**** I'm putting these guys on hold because I cannot reach the boy who has them. I'm going over there today to try and find out what the situation is, but as of now their status is unknown. I will update as information becomes available.
Bear (Midnight's brother, please see other listing) has a bit of a hard-luck story. He and his brother, Midnight, were born to a very young mother. A nice boy had taken in the mom because she belonged to a drug addict who was beating her and otherwise abusing her. The boy brought her home and started working on getting her healthy. Alas, she was apparently pregnant at the time. (We really thought she was too young to have even gone into heat!). The boy in question is pretty young (around 14, I think) and was just trying to do the right thing. Now he has not only mama, but puppies that he can't afford to feed. He's not allowed to bring them in the house, so they are currently outside and being plagued by flies as well as a bit underweight. Otherwise, they seem to be pretty healthy and very happy. We are on our way out to pick up some food for them right now and will do what we can to help provide basic care for them until we can find them homes. However, we're not really equipped to take them in right now and the boy has really exhausted any resources he has.
That's where we come in. Normally, we only handle cats here, but this is a good kid trying to do the right thing.
A bit about Bear: He's fawn-colored with a black face mask and some light black overlay on his back and hips. He's a bit bigger than his brother, although at this age that doesn't really mean he always will be! He's very friendly and likes to give kisses. He's active and inquisitive, but is a bit more laid-back than Midnight. I think he likes to spend more time checking out the situation before he does much exploring. He's very affectionate and loves to be petted. He'll make a great companion for someone! He is a bit bony, but will fill out quickly with the right food and care.
So, could you find some space in your heart and home for one or two beautiful, friendly puppies? They will be big when grown, so they will need someone who has experience with large/x-large breed dogs or who is willing to invest the time and effort needed to learn how to handle and train them. They will grow very fast, so they'll need to be worked with every day to ensure they become good citizens. They will also eat A LOT.
However, if you share your life with a Mastiff (or Mastiff cross, as the case may be), you won't regret it! They are loyal to death and beyond and love their human families dearly! They want to be a part of everything their family does! They also are natural protectors and will guard your house and family with everything they have.
Pictures and video will be added later! You just have to see this adorable boy!
