My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

QUALITIES: INTELLIGENT, AFFECTIONATE, BEAUTIFUL, OBEDIENT, CAN BE SOCIAL
LIMITATIONS: HIGH PREY DRIVE-NO CATS, CAUTIOUS OF NEW DOGS

If you are looking for the sweetest companion ever, this is your girl!

Belle was rescued off of a very busy street close to the Beltway. She is a beautiful, healthy, and happy girl now. She is very loving and very affectionate. Belle is fond of running out the dog door to be outside exploring with the other dogs. She came to us bonded with another female dog, but since that time she has bonded with a male Staffey named Duke; they wear themselves out playing chase and tug. Belle gets along with all the dogs in the home, people and with children; she has come a long way with new dogs and is now cautious for a day or so. She is not good with cats. She kennels expertly and never complains. Belle loves toys, treats and tiny beds, in that order.

Belle is on the high energy side but not extreme. If you are a runner or cyclist, she would do very well with more exercise. Belle has learned to walk patiently even though she is a mover not a smeller. She does enjoy shredding her beloved toys but it keeps her very occupied. Fully house trained, we have had no issues with Belle in the house. She is raw fed and naturally reared and has just blossomed on this protocol. Her athletic body has filled out and her coat is unbelievably soft and velvety.

Belle is fully vetted, HW negative and ready to find her very own loving family. If you would like a meet and greet with Belle, please email Kelly at nod2016dog@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

NOD is a seasonal weekend adoption event rescue. After meeting the dog, a completed adoption application is submitted to the rescue.

2.

Interview

As part of the application process, there is the phone contact with one personal reference and adopters veterinarian.

3.

Home Check

If application and references look good, then a home check is scheduled and any residual questions regarding the adoption are answered.

4.

Approve Application

The next step is a one to two week home trial to make sure the adoption is a good fit. We discuss openly the dogs traits - good and bad.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

The final step in our protocol is executing the adoption contract and payment of the adoption donation to the rescue.

Additional adoption info

I am not into rescue to have the largest turnaround of dogs. I am into rescue to take a battered and dejected dog off the streets. To get it healthy and confident in order to make a loving and permanent placement. A human-dog love connection!

Go meet their pets

More about this rescue

I am an animal lover but specifically a dog lover. I have picked up stray dogs for many years so forming a rescue was inevitable. No One's Dog Rescue is devoted to saving street dogs, one dog at a time. This includes good nutrition for vital health and training for an amendable dog. Part of my mission is to connect the right dog with the right person so there is much discussion with adopter on specific wants vs needs. I also advocate and support raw feeding and natural rearing protocols. As a nutritionist myself I know first hand the power of good food irregardless of species. I rescue because the need is so great and hope to set an example of compassion and responsibility by my actions.
