Priscilla was dropped off at the emergency vet by someone who found her injured on the street. She had multiple fractures in her back parts - it was assumed that she was hit by a car. She was also lactating from recently giving birth. No one knows what happened to the puppies.
The emergency vet transferred her to Oakland Animal Control. Unfortunately, because her injuries were older than a few days when we pulled her, fixing the broken bones with surgery was not possible. The only treatment was cage rest for a number of weeks to let enough soft tissue develop around the fractures to add some stability. She gets around well, and is otherwise healthy. Care will need to be taken to ensure she doesn’t jump from high places or play too rough. but all other activity in moderation is fine.
Priscilla gets along really well with other dogs and cats in her foster home. She is very friendly in public and with visitors to her foster home.
She needs to go to a home with another friendly, calm small dog(s).
