Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Beau is a beautiful Yorkie boy. He is approximately 10 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Beau is being fostered in Spring Hill, FL.
UPDATED BIO 08/26/l2019: Beau has been with his foster Mom for a little over a month now. Poor Beau – this sweet boy somehow ended up on the streets suffering from severe heat exhaustion and hyperthermia. A good Samaritan rushed him to the vet for immediate treatment and then he was transferred to a shelter where he waited for his family to come get him - no one came. UYR to the rescue – we stepped up for this precious and oh-so-deserving boy.
Beau has become calm and settled in his foster home and is very comfortable with both of his foster parents. Poor little fella had such a traumatic event happen to him before coming into UYR. Beau and the resident dog Bailey get along well enough, but Beau wants to be the #1 Doggie in the home. For this reason, Beau may be best as an only dog, although he may do okay with another submissive dog in the home. Beau likes to be in charge lol!
Beau wants to be with his people all the time. He sleeps in his doggie bed, or in the big bed with his foster parents. He is very athletic and loves to be outside. He is also very smart and is house-trained – BONUS! Beau will "voice" his desire to eat, or go for a walk or just to be petted – he lets his humans know when he needs something. He recently had a dental and a small lipoma removed. In a week, after his antibiotics are finished and his stitches removed, he will be ready for his forever home and his new family.
Beau is good on a leash and if he won't come in the door from outside, he is not finished. He has big brown eyes that look at his foster mom with kindness and trust, which makes her smile with joy that he is such a happy-go-lucky boy. He will bring happiness and joy to his new home. He likes to be shown lots of love and loves to hear kind words from his people. Beau still doesn’t like to ride in the car, but that may change as time goes on. He also prefers to be in familiar surroundings rather than visiting new places. Beau would make the perfect companion for folks who love to stay at home, and he would also be a great buddy when his people are outside in their garden or on the patio. Please consider adopting Beau – he is so worthy of a wonderful family that will love him for the rest of his life.
