Chyna is again available for adoption! This beautiful girl originally came to us in April in medical distress. She had ingested corn cobs and was unable to pass them. Her owners were unable to afford to provide her with the life-saving surgery she needed, and they surrendered her to our veterinarian. We were happy to be able to work with our vet (who we think is just the most awesome vet ever, by the way) to provide for Chyna's immediate surgery on a Saturday afternoon. We then had Chyna vaccinated, spayed and microchipped, and in May she was adopted. Sadly her adopted family had a job change and she has returned to our care.
We believe Chyna is getting close to a year old now, and she is a big, beautiful, happy, gentle girl. She is in great health, and she has been housebroken while with her last family. We are seeking a home for Chyna with knowledgable and responsible owners able to handle a large dog. Because she is a young lady, she will need an adopter able to properly exercise her. We would love an active adopter for her! Chyna has not been recently weighed. Our best guess is that she is about 50 pounds now.
CARE Rescue is foster-base rescue located in Richmond, VA. We do not have a facility for you to come to meet animals at. You must visit our weekly adoption stand (calendar on our website) to meet the adoptable dogs. Out of area adoptions can only be facilitated when we are able to find a volunteer to do a home visit for us and when the potential adopter already has a veterinary reference.
