My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An old farmer let a stray dog have pups in his barn. When they got to be about 6 months old they were really getting into things so he set a bunch of live traps, trapped them all, threw the traps in his truck and took them to animal control. None of the dogs had ever been held so animal control used a catchpole to get them into cages there - and again twice a day to move the dogs for cleaning purposes. Until we showed up, Canolli had never been touched by human hands. She's terrified of people but has never once growled or tried to bite - she just tries to hide. The person who picked her up is her hero and Canolli will climb into her lap and give the best hugs - but she can't stay here forever. We've got to find her a home so we can help another. Canolli needs a hero who will come here regularly for a little while and make friends with her. She's not the kind of do you can just pick up at the shelter and go home with. She's going to take a little extra work - but we promise you - she's worth it. Canolli is crate trained and we know housebreaking will be easily done in a short time. She gets along great with other dogs and with cats. We'd prefer to find her a hero with a fenced yard just to assure that she doesn't escape while getting used to her new home.
