Meet Marcus, a beautiful male German Shepherd mix that we were able to pull and save on the day he was to be euthanized in a SC shelter. His crime? He is heartworm positive which translates to "already been let down by humans." Marcus is 2-3 year old, about 50 pounds and a "man's man." He is a very nice dog who would love to be on the receiving end of a football, a frisbee and a ride in a jeep. Marcus loves people and loves the outdoors and would reward his adopter with love and loyalty.

Marcus is in good health and has started heartworm treatment. He is neutered and microchipped, up to date with vaccines and ready to meet his forever family!

CARE Rescue is foster-base rescue located in Richmond, VA. We do not have a facility for you to come to meet animals at. You must visit our weekly adoption stand (calendar on our website) to meet the adoptable dogs. Out of area adoptions can only be facilitated when we are able to find a volunteer to do a home visit for us and when the potential adopter already has a veterinary reference.
