Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I’m a black lab named Karl. Most labs are pretty great but the humans in my life tell me I am the greatest! I have a super attitude; I’m friendly and kind and always happy to hang out with my people. I like other dogs, cats and kittens! I’m very gentle when i have to be, but I can play hard with other dogs. I’m still quite an athlete - love running, hiking etc. I’m in excellent shape and I love life! I’ve know some dogs are a little aloof with people, but that’s definitely not me. I am a total companion dog. Truth is, I’m kinda needy when it comes to my people. I don’t necessarily have to cuddle or snuggle all the time - but I do need to hang out. Getting some belly rubs and ear scratches keeps me pretty happy. And knowing my people are close makes me feel relaxed. I get a little anxious when they are away from me too long. I used to live with my sister Josephine and our human. Our human started working at a new job and she was away from us for a very long time each day (sometimes 10 - 12 hours or more). I hated being cooped up in a very small space - it drove me crazy. Josephine was ok with it, but not me. I was lonely and bored and desperate! Josephine was home with me but unfortunately that didn’t make me feel much better. I needed my human and more space! I’m not a dog who can live in a crate or a small room. My human decided it would be best for me to find a home with people who are home more often. I don’t have Josephine anymore but I am doing fine. Since I’ve been in a foster home and have something to do most of the day, I am very content! I have another dog and some cats to play with now! feel really lucky! I’m eight yrs old but I still like long walks and runs and I think I’d like to play at a dog park too. Hiking might be fun to try and maybe even swimming at the beach - you name it - I think I’ll like it. I’m curious and I’m smart so I could learn new things if someone wants to teach me. I’ve learned quite a lot so far. I am very well trained and I’m a good listener. I’m eager to please and eager to learn - all I ask is for a few treats now and then! Now you know for sure I’m a real lab!I’m a terrific dog for a family or for an active couple, (not super active - I’m not into marathons or anything). I‘m a natural for family living - I thrive on being part of a pack. But, I will need someone from my pack to be home a lot so I don’t get too lonely again. I can’t live without a family and when I find mine I will love them unconditionally. Please think about me if you are looking for a faithful friend who will lay at your feet and spend lots of time with you; someone who is fun to be around and who is loyal and very good natured. When you are sad I will be there to support you and when you are happy, I will be there to share your joy. If you let me become part of your life, I’ll be with you thru thick and thin - Best Friends Forever.
