My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Finnegan is an 8-year-old neutered male black lab. Finnegan weighs 89 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION:

UPDATE: Feb 19, 2020: Finn came back after being a bit overwhelmed by all the activity at the Assisted Living Center where he was living. He was so sweet with family and clients when they experienced loss! Perfect pup

Nov 12, 2019: Finnegan is ready to go to his furever homer. His perfect home would be low-energy with someone home most of the time. He remains the love bug of the housing unit. He loves meandering through the housing unit, giving and getting love from everyone he encounters. Finnegan is a true lover who deserves the best.

Oct 8, 2019: Finnegan is doing very well and has learned a lot at the Happy Hounds Prison Program. He is doing better regarding not being left alone, but would probably do best with a person/family that is home most of the time. He is extremely people friendly and dog friendly, providing the dog is the same low energy as him. He doesn't enjoy puppies, teenage dogs or hyperactive dogs in his face. His manners are very good. His favorite activity is to go from person to person soliciting affection. At this stage in his life, Finnegan needs and deserves a quiet, loving home. He will repay with tons of love.

Finnegan is a sweetie! He loves to be around people. He plays well with his foster mom's dog, and would also do well as the only dog. He knows sit and is quickly learning the wait command at doors. He is house-trained, has a gentle mouth when taking treats and walks well with a harness. He does not like a crate and fortunately does not need one! Finnegan is well behaved in the house and is happy when he finds a nice spot on the floor. He's a chill companion and the perfect family pet!

Finnegan is a handsome, friendly, gentle giant. He just has a nub for a tail. (His tail was like this when he came to the shelter, so we don't know what happened.) Finnegan is always wagging his nub. He can use some leash training due to his size and strength. Finnegan was tested on lead with other dogs at the shelter and did fine. From transporter: Finnegan is a big boy, but he is well-mannered
