My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Goldie. My foster mom thinks I'm a great gal, and says I'm really easy to care for and love. I'm already house-trained and always go into my crate when she asks. I even learned to use doggie doors just by watching my "brother" use them. It doesn't even matter that they are small doors, since I can easily just duck my head a bit to go through them. Speaking of size, I think I look kind of big in my photos, but I'm just a sleek 38 pounds and, when I'm standing, the top of my head is only 24" from the floor. I don't mean to brag, but I've often heard people I meet refer to me as "beautiful" and "gorgeous" .

I really enjoy the daily walks I take with my foster mom and "brother", and mom says I'm really good on a leash - unless I see a cat, that is. I have this laser focus on them and mom has to strongly encourage me to continue on our walk. Since I have lots of energy and stamina, mom thinks I would make someone a great jogging partner. But rest assured that I also love to snuggle and recharge with plenty of restful sleep.

I get along with other dogs of all sizes, but would also be happy as your only canine companion. I haven't lived around any young children, but mom and the other Westbury CARE ladies noticed that I was calm and gentle around both the kids and adults who visited with me during a recent adoption event.
