Sugar was picked up as a stray, she is a sweet girl. Sugar is a little shy however warms up when treats are invloved, she takes them from your hand so gentle. She is happy and wags around other dogs.Sugar's hold is up on 7/26/19 and she can be killed by shelter staff after that date.

The shelter has started the heartworm positive dogs on ivermectin to help start them on the slow kill method of heartworm treatment. Ivermectin alone does not cure heartworm and does not kill the adult heartworm. Adult heartworm will continue to damage a dog’s organs. Thorough heartworm treatment to cure a dog of the disease consists of diagnostics and a two prong approach to treatment for both the adult or immature heartworm. Veterinary care and supervision is key.
