Hello there! My name is Lizzie, and I'm a beautiful black DSH/ Bombay mix gal with stunning green eyes and a shiny patent-leather coat who was born in April 2109. I'm very bonded with my pretty little gray tabby DSH sister Ruthie. We're both very comfortable with people, other kitties, as well as the small resident dogs in our foster home. Our favorite spot is cuddled in our foster meowmy's lap where we can compete to see who has the loudest purr.
The orphaned pair of us started showing up in the back yard of a nice, cat-loving lady. Even though we were a little skeptical at first, she won over our hearts by feeding us yummy canned food every day, thrice a day, for two weeks. WOW - what luck. Patience was her motto, thank heavens. She didn't want to scare us and use a loud trap, so instead she got us used to eating inside a dog crate before she gently shut the door. Then she brought us to our Buster's Friends foster meowmy, who took us into her home.
Now that we know that we can trust people, "we've come a long way baby" since we were first rescued. We're not scared of people AT ALL, and we even come when we're called!
We love each other dearly and play so well together that we think it'd be the cat's meow if we were adopted together (although were are available separately). Two is so much more fun than one, and we could keep each other company while you're at work, school, or on vacation. Why don't you arrange to meet me (and Ruthie, for that matter!) right away!
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced.
Lizzie is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. Her adoption fee is $125 ($225 for the bonded pair) for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Lizzie, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet her.
To adopt one of our cats, you must fill out our adoption application and be approved by one of our adoption counselors. To make the process more efficient, submit the online cat adoption application at https://www.bustersfriends.org/cat-adoption-application.
