Meet Walden, a good-looking 80-pound mix about 1.5 years of age, in need of either a home in a quiet suburban area or in the country. According to the DNA test that was done, Walden is a mix of Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Golden Retriever, with a bit of Bull Terrier thrown in for good measure.
After having been obtained from a shelter, Walden’s family soon discovered that they could not offer him the environment that he needed. This was mostly due to living in a highly-populated area with some irresponsible dog owners, which made life difficult for Walden. In the home, Walden is a gentle soul who is good with children. Although he sometimes demonstrates unsocialized behaviour when meeting certain dogs on walks, Walden is very good with other canine neighbours. He plays well with other dogs as long as they don’t get annoyed by his excited nature.
Walden’s ideal home will be experienced with large dogs. He might benefit from formal training depending on his adopter’s level of experience. Walden does not like spending extended periods of time home alone, and was kept crated during the workday so as not to disturb neighbours. He would definitely enjoy having someone home at least part of the day if possible. Walden is clean in the house and has absolutely zero aggression towards humans.
If Walden sounds like the kind of dog you can open your heart and home to, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website. He’s a great dog who deserves a great home!
