Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Loki (formerly known as Lucky) is a handsome, smaller sized male Jindo, weighing in the low 40lbs range.
He's about 5 years old.
Loik is a gentle boy who is rather aloof/shy with strangers, but once he develops a relationship through mutual trust and respect, he forms strong bonds.
At this stage, he appears to do best in a quiet household, with no boisterous children, or other animals.
He walks well on leash, but we have not had a chance to see him interact much with other animals or dogs yet as we believe in making any introductions slowly and with caution (regardless of dog breed or any temperament notes we receive from their shelters).
Notes from his foster Mom:
"Things are going really well! Loki is such a sweetheart - he’s very calm and relaxed indoors. He’s a little bear.
He’s just discovered belly rubs and during the mornings I’m able to let him off-leash in one of the enclosed tennis courts and he really gets playful! He jumps around and chases me, paws at my feet, and sometimes gets mouthy but only in a gentle/ playful way and stops when he’s told and calms right down. He’s also getting into chasing tennis balls when off leash.
Right now his call back is about 50/50 haha but getting better!
He likes smaller dogs more and likes to go up for a sniff, every now and then he gets playful with them - big dogs he isn’t a fan of, he does snap and get a little defensive; I’m not sure if it’s trigged out of dominance or fear- I get a sense it’s a dominance thing as he seems to engage more with the smaller, more submissive dogs.
He is still a little timid of strangers but he will go up, sniff, wag a little bit then continue his business - I get the feeling he’s just indifferent towards people he doesn’t know and doesn't feel the need to really engage- but he does let my friend pet him! She’s taken him on walks while I’m at work so he definitely warms up to people the more time they spend with him.
He’s a very good boy and really understands routine - he knows what time I get up in the morning and when the next walk is etc. He’s a quick learner!"
