My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome Ryuk was pulled from AVAS (Apple Valley Shelter in CA) in late May of this year. He was quickly put on the list to be euthanized. The shelter deemed him aggressive because he would bark if you approached his kennel. Our volunteer who went to evaluate him didn’t view him as aggressive. He would try to back away to evade and would hug the wall because he was so afraid. When the barking stopped and there were moments of quiet, he would settle.

The volunteer who went to see him became his foster. It was a leap of faith on her part but thankfully Ryuk has shown himself to be nothing but “AVAS sweet.” She knew it from the soulful look in his eyes that he was indeed a good boy. The jindos we’ve pulled from Apple Valley do tend to be a bit undersocialized but are so incredibly good natured and loving. Ryuk is no exception!

We do believe he is ready for adoption although he does need a patient adopter who understands his need to go slow. A lot of life is new to him and he needs continued confidence building, strong and positive leadership and work on the leash skills.

Ryuk is already learning and enjoying new things as he currently on vacation in Montana with his foster family! He is doing exceptionally well and has taken to the leash! He loves going on hikes and having a good romp with his foster brother.

He is being fostered in Wrightwood, CA. He is up to date on his current vaccinations, neutered, 3y/o and 47lbs.
