Here's what the humans have to say about me:
GLENDA is a 2-year-old spayed female yellow lab. Glenda weighs 49 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Glenda has a beautiful butterscotch coat and caramel colored ears and she's sweeter than a sundae slathered in both! She is playful and petite and loves to make new friends. This gorgeous girl is always up for cruising in the car and likes to play outside. Glenda will fit in with any family ready to make their summer a little sweeter and a lot more fun! She is good with dogs.
UPDATE: Glenda enjoyed an overnight field trip with one of our wonderful volunteers and we learned a bit about her. She is eager to get into the car and does not get car sick, although she likes to help drive; a crate or car harness would be best to contain her for safety. Glenda is house-trained. She is almost crate-trained and will load with guidance and a treat incentive. She does bark and whine when left in the crate overnight; covering the crate seems to calm her. Glenda needs formal training, although she is learning quickly. She picked up "sit" command with a treat incentive. She pulls on leash, but improved with use of an EZ-Walk harness and positive reinforcement (happy voice and occasional treats). She is reactive to other dogs, both when she is in her crate and on leash. We have started working with her to alleviate this behavior. Glenda should be the only dog in the home for now. Glenda loves her humans, is very sweet and likes to lounge on the couch with you for pets. She ignores the vacuum while crated, will follow you as soon as you move out of her sight. She lets you wipe her paws and body when coming in from outside. She has no interest in playing with toys, but liked the Nylabone and would like a home where she can learn to love toys! She did not chew on anything in the house that she was not hers.
