My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Uma! She and his littermates were found with their mama in a box outside an Applebee's when he was only about three weeks old. A Good Samaritan brought them to us and their owners never came (not that we ever thought they would).

Now that these pups are old enough their mama, Lady, has assured us it is time for them to venture out on their own. Now, mama is not telling us who their daddy is so we are guessing at the Beagle in them but they sure look and act Beagle-y. So mix mama's Shiba Inu and Chihuahua (again, a guess but we feel a very good one) in with the Beagle (or perhaps Jack Russell?) and you get our favorite breed - purebred mutt!

These babies are fun, funny, affectionate, and everything that you would hope for in a pup. They will be on the small side of a medium dog or the large side of a small dog. They do well in a crate so are on their way to being housetrained too.

If you have been looking for a sweet pup to complete your family then read on or go directly to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
