My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a 9 year-old spayed female chocolate lab. Maggie weights 94 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRITPION: From her owner who gave her up very reluctantly.
Maggie is a definite couch potato, she loves being with her people whether it’s at home or on a ride in the car. She really enjoys going for rides, just say the word “go” and she’s ready for her daily ride and outing. She loves to put her nose out the car and take in the fresh air, smells and sights.
She currently lives with another older lab, they travel as a pair and look out for one another. Truth be known, Maggie gets along with all of the animals she has met, but I believe she would be fine as a single dog or with another dog. Maggie has many friends, she especially loves females and children and adores being with them. She is a little shy of new men, she is fine as long as they let her come to her vice rush to meet her. Once she gets to know them she is fine.
Loud noises startle her but she can be redirected with her favorite foods, fruits and vegetables rock her world- her very favorite though is a cucumber. And if you forget her 6:30 p.m. dog biscuit treat, she will bark to give you a reminder of the time. Maggie loves being with people and does best when she can be with them as much as possible. She has difficulties getting in and out of the car, going up and down more a few stairs and going for walks longer than a few blocks. She would do best with a family that has a one story home limited stairs and able to give her the attention she deserves. She is a WONDERFUL WOOFER who has so much to share.

MOST RECENT UPDATE: Happy weekend from foster Maggie! Foster Mom says I have really come out of my shell and I’m enjoying my walks, sniffing in the backyard and car rides. I know I’m being redundant, but I cannot overstate how much Maggie loves to simply ride in the car. She is now my official errand companion. She also says I am a calm, gentle, sweet soul with perfect house manners. I wish someone would take me home to spend my remaining years in the midst of a loving family.

UPDATE: Maggie is a sweet, quiet soul. She is easy to have around and has perfect house manners. She is completely house-trained and needs little exercise - some short walks and playtime make her happy! Maggie absolutely loves riding in the car and is her foster's errand buddy when it is cool enough to be out.
