Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Happy, who is being fostered in Richmond, VA., is 7 years old. This sweet boy came into rescue when his human mom was unable to take care of him. Happy was stressed when he came into rescue and voiced his opinion loudly. Now that he is settled in, he is learning to live in harmony with another small dog and two cats. His foster mom says he is a very confident, goofy and curious guy. He is trustworthy too. Happy would do well with an adult family or a family with older children. He prefers a routine. He would also do well with a small furry friend. Happy has problems with his eyesight. We believe he can see shadows and he was prescribed eye drops that will need to be continued the rest of his life. Quick movements and loud noises can startle him. Happy is on heart medication as well, due to an enlarged heart and murmur. He will need to continue this medication throughout his life. Happy’s health issues does not keep this adorable boy from loving life, his favorite chewies and a good massage. Happy wants to be wherever his human is. He is a great snuggler and has the most adorable “Peke” snore. Happy loves a slow walk and enjoys rolling in the grass and wandering at his leisure. He does need to be reminded near curbs to be careful as he eases himself up or down. He will need help with staircases as well. A fenced-in yard is desirable for Happy to be able to roam and play safely. He’s ready to take on a new chapter in his life where he can enjoy the simple things and be given the opportunity to relax with his favorite person. If you are interested in more information or in adopting Happy, please fill out an application to adopt. http://www.potomacpekes.org/onlineapplicationadopt.htm. We require a vet check and a home visit. Previous experience with Pekes is always a plus! Happy’s adoption fee is $200.00.
