My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BUCK is a 8.5-year-old neutered male black lab. Buck weighs 70 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION Buck is an adorable boy who has mastered "puppy dog eyes" – one look at this face and you will be unable to resist welcoming this sweet fellow into your home. Buck rides great in the car, knows basic commands, walks politely on a leash – what more do you need! He is great with other dogs and appears to be good with cats.

UPDATE: Buck is a delight to have as a house guest! He is housebroken and does not need to be crated when left alone. He curls up on one of his orthopedic beds and waits for his foster to come home to give him a lunchtime potty break and treat. He takes he treats very gently. He is currently residing with 3 older dogs and does fine with them. He has learned to pull himself up on the couch if he wants to look out the window. He would make a great companion for an older dog whose playing days are over. He is a very handsome boy with a gentle soul. He will melt your heart with his soulful eyes. Buck is able to take short walks in the neighborhood and he gets super excited when the leash comes out! He is very curious about all the new sights and sounds and loves to meet other dogs and people. He likes to roam in the back yard with the other dogs and watch the chickens next door. His tail is always wagging when you talk to him. He rarely barks, but will whine when he sees other dogs. Buck's hips do not work great anymore. He require one floor living and no more than 2 steps to go out to the yard. He loves his orthopedic beds and would like to have one in the main living area and another in the bedroom so he can keep you close:) He would not be able to tolerate an active dog that may jump on him. He is fed from a raised feeder so it is easier on his hips. In typical lab fashion, he cleans his plate quickly. He is currently taking Dasuquin for his joints and Tramadol for pain management. He uses a dog ramp to get in the car. Buck will stumble and fall when he cannot get his legs to cooperate. He sometimes has difficulty getting his legs under him to stand. Sweet Buck would love an adopter that likes easy strolls around the neighborhood, company while gardening and a buddy while watching a movie.
