Dakota is a super sweet 6-year-old purebred, female Landseer Newfoundland. Her owner suddenly passed away, leaving Dakota longing for that bond she once shared. She is being cared for in one of our foster homes near Omaha, NE. She is up to date on vaccination and on preventatives. She weighs around 100 pounds
Dakota loves to be by her foster parents side most of the time. She does not need constant attention, but she is always laying close by. She gets along well with other dogs and may benefit from a calm, confident dog showing her the way.
Dakota is house trained, good with cats, trustworthy with free roam, and likes children. She is very loyal and loving. She knows to sit, down, stay, shake, get it (pick items up). She will bring you your slippers if you ask her to.
We are currently treating her for anxiety with a low dose of medicine. She does not have separation anxiety. She can be reactive in public when on walks. She's made some great improvements and she continues to build confidence.
She has some arthritis in her knees and back that we give her anti-inflammatories as needed and joint supplements. The supplements have really helped her and will need to be continued.
Dakota is a very special girl. She will do best living a low commotion lifestyle where she can be with her people most of the time. If Dakota sounds like the girl for you, she will be the most loyal, loving friend you could ask for!
Our adoption fee is $300.00. A fenced yard is required for adoption.
