Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Milo, oh our handsome Milo! Milo was found with a serious wound and infection on his leg and had to have surgery to remove the leg. Happily, Milo’s recovery has been smooth and he is getting along just fine on three legs.
Milo is estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old, but he is all puppy at heart. We believe he was never properly socialized as a youngster, so we started a strong training program to help him with his manners. Milo is a pleaser and loves to learn. We use puzzle toys, kongs and lots of exercise to keep his mind occupied.
Milo does get along with other confident dogs, but being an insecure dog, it takes him a little time to feel safe around other dogs. We have learned a lot about Milo and understand that his introduction process needs to be done slowly and patiently. Our team is there to guide his future forever family through the process and ensure that he gets off to a perfect start.
Before joining Wags, we don’t know that Milo had a lot of interaction with people. He has a bit of separation anxiety, possibly because he didn’t have a secure, safe home before coming to Wags. With time, Milo is learning that his foster home is safe and he has made huge strides in gaining confidence. We know that with a strong leader, he will feel even more secure in a forever home.
A little about Milo:
I HAVE: A silly personality. I love affection and attention at all times and if I am not getting it, I will rub against your leg and lean into you for some rubs.
I LOVE: Playing with toys and getting belly rubs!
I GET ALONG WITH: Adults and other big dogs that I am introduced with properly. I like to chase cats and small dogs, so a home without them is necessary for me. I also am unsure of small children, so an adult only home is necessary for me.
I WOULD RATHER NOT: Be a dog that travels a lot. New situations can stress me out a bit. I would prefer to be at home snoozing on the couch or taking a routine walk around the trail vs hanging out where there is a lot of stimulation or new noises.
I NEED: A home that understands my special needs. Now that I have lost a leg, I will need to be monitored to ensure that my other three legs stay strong and healthy. I need a family that will give me daily walks, but also recognize that I tire a little more easily than some dogs when out. I am very affectionate, so I would love a home that can give me lots of attention.
