My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there!
Marco here!!, I am a now 6yo Rat Terrier / Australian CattleDog mix. Our Birthday is approximately August 15th, 2013 our rescuer never saw our parents. My Brother Polo and I were saved as puppies, maybe 6-8wks old with mange from a high kill shelter in San Bernardino, CA September 24, 2013. Our rescuer initially named us Stanley and Hardy, they took good care of us and made us all better so we could meet our new family. Our rescue is picky and wants us to be a part of a family and be loved like family, living indoors with family, with outside access and exercise... like family should be. We were adorable puppies.

On November 10th, 2013 we were given our new parents.... If only our rescuer knew.. we lived outside and slept in the garage for 6yrs. with no exercise, walks or loving attention. Until the day we saw our rescuer again and came home. Yep our parents that adopted us as pups, returned us to rescue 6yrs later with the excuse of selling the home and getting a divorce! We actually cannot be happier, we are with our canine friends again, we play all day and sleep on a nice bed inside or outside or where ever we want! We get lots of exercise and are on a better diet so we can lose some fat that we gained laying around for 6yrs.

We are extremely well behaved and balance dogs, we are not high energy dogs like our ancestors who herd, but we have alot of their characteristics and we are very smart. We are housebroken, peepad trained, doggie door trained, love walks and good on leash, LOVE people and after our initial adjustment... we are great with our pack members. We didn't know what to do when we got back here and our rescuer invited us inside and everyone around us was going in... we just stood at the door and waited, confused afraid to enter... but she welcomed us with open arms and DOG TREATS!! Wahoo!!

But we have been very confused, and learning new things all over again... Our rescue is busy and We need our own family foster or adopter. We dont understand why the other people adopted us and didn't love us enough to make us a part of their family and the gave us away after such a long time, it really was scary and it did hurt, but really, we wish they'd done it sooner....We DO need to stay together tho, my brother Polo is having a hard time hearing lately... so he needs me and we are very close after all these years... Wont you offer us a spot on your couch or lap? Promise you wont be disappointed... !! Just give our rescue a shout! complete the application we are right here waiting .

Love, Marco and Polo aka Stanley and Hardy
