My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Teft! A big fluffy hunk of love!  He is a simple cat with simple needs. Just a cuddle, a warm bed and a nice meal, and he will be your fur friend for life. (Did you watch the video?  That purrrrrr!) Even though Teft is a big cuddler, he is also quite playful! Just a dangle of his favorite toy will get him going and he loves the company of anyone who wants to give it. He also enjoys treats and chin scritches.

Teft's story starts when he found his way to one of our volunteer's house. He was hungry, getting bullied by stray animals and a bit sick due to being exposed to the elements for so long. Our volunteer stepped in, got him some very deserved TLC and now he’s much healthier and ready to go to his forever home.

Teft is about 4 years old.  He is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped (with a lifetime registration).   He has excellent house manners. He is negative for FIV and FeLuk.

Although he is fine with other cats, he does need to be your One and Only Feline Love, and this is why: Teft's veterinarian told us that he has Feline Herpesviral Conjunctivitis, also known as FHV-1. The virus very common in cats, most having been exposed to it at some point in their lives, but are often latent carriers, never showing any symptoms their whole lives.

However, due to Teft's neglect in his previous life, he did show some symptoms (watery eyes, sneezing). It is NOT transmittable to humans or dogs but can be transmittable to other cats. After some medical help, Teft is now very healthy, only showing symptoms every now and then. To help keep him healthy, Teft receives a supplement of L-lysine in his food daily. He also gets eye drops on an as needed basis.

Teft's foster mom has other cats, so he has to be kept separated.  We would really like for him to have a real home of his own, where he can wander about the house, nap on the sofa, and most of all, cuddle with his person whenever he pleases.
