Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Josey is a very handsome and loving Black and Tan Hound Rottie mix boy that is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, parasite free, completely housebroken, crate trained, good in car, and very well behaved. This precious boy who was dumped by his owner over four months ago needs your help more than ever to find his perfect loving forever home, FOREVER. JoJo was just diagnosed today, July 5th by Dr. Carastro, Ophthalmologist, with SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome). JoJo went from seeing perfectly to becoming completely blind in less than a week with this very rare disease in dogs. Unfortunately, there is no cure, however JoJo can live a normal and happy life with the right person and environment. Now a “special needs” guy, he would do best in a quiet, adult home as the only animal and with someone who doesn’t rearrange furniture. JoJo wasn't born blind and this is extremely frightening for him. His brain function, hearing and sense of smell are great. He would love to be a lap dog for that special someone that would open their home and heart to him. From JoJo’s foster mom: “JoJo has already memorized the path to go out of the house & where the water dish is, he can hear when someone comes up the walk & he barks to let us know. He is mellow & walks good on the leash with no pulling as long as you direct him where to go. Dr. Carastro said he could have a full long life, He's probably 6 to 6 1/2 yrs old. 85lbs (could stand to loose a little weight). He loves food, treats and takes them gently from the hand.”
