Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Eva is a 3-year-old spayed female that is looking for a new ADULT ONLY home. She was an owner surrender due to her behavior. Shortly after being in foster care she was diagnosed with a severe stomach infection and a double inner ear infection. Adding to her behavior, she hadn't been groomed in some time because she was previously traumatized by a groomer. After a pretty long recovery process involving vet care, a lot of love and patience from her foster mom, and a positive experience with an extremely patient groomer, Eva has made a lot of progress.
But she does still have a tendency to bite in certain situations:
*She does not like being awakened suddenly when sleeping. Her foster has taken to call out her name to wake her up gently.
*She is territorial with her food and toys. Her foster has learned to distract her to redirect her attention.
She does get along with other dogs, but because of her territorial nature she will need a dog who will respect her territory.
*Because of her grooming experience, there are certain spots she does not liked to be touched. He foster has worked with her to allow grooming but does it over a few days.
Eva needs a patient and experienced adopter who can work with her and learn how to handle her. She is a very loving dog, loves attention and cuddles and kisses. She is very food motivated. She is potty pad and crate trained so she would make a great apartment dog. She also loves her daily walks and gets so excited when she sees her harness. Eva is looking for an ideal forever home with adults only. Because of her history it is recommended that if there are no children under 14, and those over 14 be experienced in handling a dog. She is a dominant female so would do better as an only dog or with another male dog around her size. She has a hard time trusting people but with love and patience, she becomes very attached once she lets her guard down. She needs a little more time to become accustomed to males.
