Here's what the humans have to say about me:
BOONE is a 2-year-old neutered male yellow lab. Boone weighs 110 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Boone is a big fuzzy fella with gorgeous golden eyes and the softest coat. He is mostly white with honey colored highlights on his ears. Boone is full of energy and loves to go walking and hiking. This guy never runs out of gas! He loves to be around people and always greets new friends with a happy tail and some gentle kisses. This boy is sweet and fun and ready to find a family that will give him plenty of exercise and training to help him focus his energy
UPDATE: This big beautiful boy is so much fun to have around! He has been with his foster for a week and has gone on plenty of adventures, including going to the dog park to play with friends, enjoying lots of walks, and greeting people with a very friendly hello! Boone is full of energy, but the heat and humidity tires him quickly. In his downtime, he loves to chill on the couch or his bed listening to Bob Marley. Boone walks pretty well on an EZ-Walk harness, but loves chasing squirrels and other animals so its best to have a very strong hold on his leash to make sure he knows that you're in charge. Boone is house trained and will go to the door when he wants to go out, and knows sit, down, leave it, and a few other commands. He LOVESSSS his chew toys and one of his favorite activities is bringing one into foster mom's bed when its bedtime; once he's finished, he sleeps like a charm. While Boone still has plenty to learn, he is a very quick learner and is eager to please. Boone did great playing with other dogs at the park and loves playing with the resident dog. Boone is a pretty laid back dude for most of the day just lounging, with occasional big bursts of energy where he wants to play with toys or find an animal to chase. He tires out easily running outside, but that is likely due to the high heat. He visited the gym and laid down to greet everyone that walked in:) Overall, Boone is pretty independent and does not follow his foster constantly, but will sometimes walk over for some pets and will always accept belly rubs.
UPDATE: Boone has been a great house guest! This big guy is nothing but love and play, play play! He wants to play as much as possible. He loves playing with other dogs, toys, tennis balls - you name it! Despite his play drive, when the family settles down for the night, Boone finds his spot and sleeps until morning. Boone is completely house-trained and does know a few commands such as 'sit' and 'give paw'. He does need some work in other areas, but is attentive and seems like a quick study. Boone has not chewed on anything that does not belong to him. He has not been crated as he is too big and is left in a bedroom during the day with no problems. Boone LOVES the critters in the yard and appears to have a high prey drive. Boone barks at the vacuum cleaner but does not seem afraid of it or anything else. He does enjoy time outside and will lay on the deck taking it all in. Boone would love a family that is active as he will need plenty of exercise every day. He is a great dog!
