My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dex is a sweet, loving dog. His favorite things are walks, watching tv, and eating! Right now he loves having a nice morning and evening stroll after his meals, and this seems to get out all of his wiggles. He is very motivated by any and all food, but also knows when to leave you alone if you are eating dinner. Dex is a perfect companion if you enjoy eating outdoors, as he is happy to keep you company on a deck or even outdoor restaurant. He greets everyone he meets with a wag of his tail, but sometimes it takes him a few minutes to warm up to you. He is fine around other dogs after being given a few minutes to warm up to them as well. He enjoys playing with soft toys after some encouragement that playing is acceptable! He can be a bit aggressive when reaching for toys or food, but he is working on it every day. He is crate training, but enjoys being able to move in and out of his crate freely. He is very frightened of rain and storms, but we are working on some positive behavior reinforcement and every day he gets a little more comfortable. As of right now calming treats and a safe place to go have been helping him cope. He’s a lover and will make a family incredibly happy!

Dogs will only be adopted to residents of the following: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and DC.

Adopters must agree to take the dog through obedience training within 3 months of adoption (unless the dog is over age 10).

Adopters must agree to keep the dog current on vaccinations and heart worm, flea, tick prevention on a year round basis.
