Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Tater!!
Tater might be little but boy does he have spunk!! This 9 week old puppy has loads of personality! He is VERY friendly...wags his tail all the time and is extremely playful! He is a mix of a Yorkie and Poodle probably something else thrown in like a Schnauzer. He is hypoallergenic and non-shedding and has a very fuzzy coat that will lighten as he gets older. The pictures make him look like he has a wiry coat but he is very soft with straight silky hair. As he is part Yorkie they are all born black and lighten up into a silvery color as they get older as he is already starting to do.
He was bought by a family that two weeks later decided they didn't have time for him. We have the feeling he spent a lot of time outside because the first time we touched him he smelled a bit like the inside of a garbage can. But now he has been bathed and groomed and feels and looks great!
He is in a private home in foster care with a small Yorkie mix named Waffles, a Boxer named Tyson, a cat as well as a little boy and he just loves everyone! He is currently being crate trained and is doing very well.
He is currently about 3 pounds and it is hard to say how big he will get not having seen the parents, but we are guessing between 9 and 12 pounds.
His adoption fee includes his neuter (when he is old enough as he is too young), his current vaccinations, deworming, microchip, grooming, collar, leash, bed and starter food. An adoption fee does apply.
As we prescreen via email ONLY please tell us a bit about you such as:
1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule.
2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment.
3. How many adults, children and pets in the household.
4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work.
5. Where your pet will sleep.
Some notes to consider before applying for Tater:
1.As he is a puppy please make sure everyone is on board with the time it takes to properly train a new life. He also is a mix of breeds that require grooming every 6 weeks or so.
2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER.
3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place.
Thank you for choosing to adopt!
