My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This large 70 pound Muffin is named Dixie. She is only a 1 ½ years old and we believe she is a good combination of Boxer, Ridgeback, and maybe Great Dane. She is about the size of a boxer and tends to have a boxer personality. If you love boxers, then you will love her. Dixie was surrendered to a shelter because she didn’t like the new dog although she liked the resident Pug. Thus, we would like to find her a home without any other animals. No worries as she has enough love to replace a slew of dogs! Dixie is very affectionate and loves to give hugs. So far she has bonded with her foster mama which leads us to believe that she predominantly will bond strongly with one person. We are working on her confidence level as she is a bit of a scaredy-cat. She is the type of dog that snuggles with you…or on you…during a movie or that you curl up in bed with at night. She would not do well in a home with a lot of hustle and bustle as this makes her fearful. She is fine with someone who works a full-time job and doesn't seem to have separation anxiety. She also is a very quiet dog. If you are a single lady, she might be a good fit. She doesn't require a ton of exercise but does enjoy walks. It will take a day or two for Dixie to settle into a new routine but once she does, you have a big bear for your lifetime!
