My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Found dumped at a temple a year ago, Derby was clearly different to other discarded Thai dogs. Rather than displaying signs of anxiety and neglect, she immediately ran up to greet us with a big smile and wagging tail, clearly full of affection for each and every one of us. Time and time again we visited the pack and were greeted with the same enthusiasm from this bundle of joy.

Our hearts broke when we began to realize that she was not always like this. The pack living there had not been welcoming of the new-comer. She was rejected and ostracized for not being an original member.

The opportunity to bring her back with us to the Rescue Paws clinic finally became available, and since that day Derby has continued to generously share her love! Running each morning from one volunteer to the next, gifting loving kisses. A true people pleaser, she simply LOVES being with people, and following an excited hello, would happily sit down for cuddles.

We began her on “puppy training”, and were blown away by her dedication and progress! She quickly mastered sit, down and waiting patiently for food, and has almost grasped “paw!’.

As much as we would have loved to keep her at our Rescue Paws clinic in Hua Hin, without a pack to return her to, and more paws requiring our assistance, Derby has now received the ultimate reward with her relocation to Canada!

Derby would make a wonderful addition to a family who can match her level of energy, and unconditional love!
