Meet Cagney!
This precious little soul with the most beautiful button eyes is probably one of the sweetest little pups you will ever want to meet! Cagney is a 10 week old mixture of a Pug Mommy and Maltese Mix Dad. It was not a deliberate litter as the owner of the pug had not spayed her and his son came for a visit from Texas and then there were puppies. (Mommy has since been spayed). Mom was a 100% Pug and very sweet.
Cagney has the Pug personality. Very affectionate, very playful and a big eater! He is smart and connected and gets along great with the other dogs in the house, as well as the cat and the birds!
Because he is not a pure Pug he has an adorable face without the typical Pug breathing problems making him a great candidate for walks and an active family, and also has a slightly longer, softer coat. He currently weights about 3 pounds and as he was the runt of the litter we do not expect him to be more than about 12 pounds.
His adoption fee includes his neuter (per the terms of our adoption agreement), his current vaccinations (he has had two sets thus far), microchip, deworming, crate training, harness, leash, starter food and bed. An adoption fee does apply.
As we prescreen via email ONLY please tell us a bit about you such as:
1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule.
2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment.
3. How many adults, children and pets in the household.
4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work.
5. Where your pet will sleep.
Some notes to consider before applying for Cagney:
1.As he is a 10 week old people please make sure everyone is on board with the time it takes to train your new puppy so that he will be that perfect canine citizen.
2. We are not affiliated with Smashface Rescue. Please do not call them. Your call will not be returned.
3. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER.
4. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place.
