Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
These 2 cuties are Mara and Mario, 1 year old siblings who came to us all the way from China. They were living near a gas station outside of Shanghai, trying to survive. The owner of the gas station was planning to poison them, but fortunately our wonderful rescuer stepped in just in time and saved them.
Mara is very sweet and looks out for her little brother. She is a little slow to trust and warm up, but when she does she is very affectionate. Understandably she is a bit wary of strangers, but once she gets to know people she is a happy girl. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys going on walks and playing. She is a quiet girl who only barks when someone comes to the door. Mara is approx 35 lbs.
Mario is also very sweet once he gets to know someone. He may bark initially, but quickly warms up and loves being petted. He enjoys his walks and playing with his sister. Mario is a little possessive of toys, which often happens in dogs who haven’t had any toys previously. He will need time and patience to learn that he doesn’t need to protect his precious toys. Mario is approx 30 lbs.
Both Mara and Mario walk well on leash. They haven’t had any accidents at their foster home, but as with any new dog they will need reminders of the appropriate place to go potty at their forever home. These two absolutely love each other, and spend their days playing and running around together so we are looking for a home where they can stay together. They are both a little sensitive to new noises and new people, so they will need reassurance and understanding as they are introduced to new situations. With love and patience this dynamic duo will be great family companions.
