7 m, 6 f, BlueHeeler/Lab/BorderCollieXs-dob: March 10, 2019
This litter was born in a lg plastic swimming pool while their owner was driving truck cross-country. His adult daughter would come by 2X day to feed Mama, clean up after them and make sure everyone was safe while her dad was out of town.
Mama is a pb Blue Heeler, with ice-blue eyes. Their daddy is a BlackLab/BorderCollieX with 1 blue & 1 brown eye.
Several pups have ice-blue eyes, while 2 have 1 blue/1brn eye and so that must make 6 with brown eyes.
Owner wanted the litter of 13 'gone' by the time he got back from this week's haul, after Mama walked away from them, just 1 day shy of them turning 4wo.
EX-wife just happens to be Howlin4Spirit's mail carrier and so she reached out to us for help...of course! And, we were HAPPY to get Mama spayed for him, just as soon as she had dried up enough to safely undergo the surgery!
Win! Win! for ALL concerned!
These pups are now well-socialized with humans and dogs, through H4S's diligence and patience. We've split them up into 2 groups...so as to be able to know and handle them better and easier to ID each one. 6 bigger ones together and the 7 smallest together. Works so much better this way!
They are happy, healthy(thankful for puppy vitamins, black-strap molasses & high calorie food) and are always happy to see us coming...i.e., they LOVE their person!
The females will be spayed on FRI/May 31st & males will be neutered on MON/June 3rd.
They will be ready to go to their pre-approved adoptive homes on SAT/June 8th, after they have recovered from their spay/neuter-micro-chip surgeries.
These pups are in and will remain in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC until they have recovered from their surgery and their adoptive family has been approved.
Adoption fee: $355(includes spay/neuter, micro-chip, 3 puppy boosters(of 4 required 1st yr), 2 Leptospirosis, Bordatella and 1st yr Rabies vaccines, they are parasite-free(2 rounds each of Panacur & Ponazaril), current on heart worm and flea/tick prevention, will come with ALL medical paperwork from day#1 at Howlin4Spirit-including our vet's surgical notes and current health certificate, 1/2 gallon bag of their current dry food(Tractor Supply Store's '4health'-salmon & potato), T ball, 1 Kong OR Nylabone chew toy, 2 'pet alert' wallet cards, 'RESCUED DOGS ROCK' car magnet, new Martingale collar and matching 6' leash and 'SUPER PUPPY-The Best Dog You'll Ever Have' training booklet. And tons of pertinent info & links we have gathered together over the years for all of our newly adoptive families/people's needs.
This litter is a blend of 2 'herding' and a LabRtvr breed so unless you already have experience with herding breeds and are committed to a daily exercise regime accompanied by your pet (i.e., runner/jogger/hiker/bicyclist or walk at least 3 rigorous miles daily). We will not be accepting applications from folks who live in an apartment environment, UNLESS you have NO children under 12yo, work from home and are willing to commit to attend an obedience training course with your new furry BFF within the 1st month and are committed to a regular exercise regime. Yes! We are THAT serious about making each pup's life with you a well-oiled life-long commitment, with lots of bonding 'together' time, respect for one another's happiness, safety and this pup's need for a confident leader to help keep them safe and energetically-contented.
