My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sugar is an 8 yr. old Maltese female. She is a nice size, weighing 8 lbs., 3 oz. Sugar has a friendly personality and likes both men and women. She prefers a calm living environment so a home without children would be best for her. Sugar gets along with other small, calm dogs although she would be happy as an “only” dog if a person has time for Sugar to snuggle near them.

Sweet Sugar can now walk, run and see. When she arrived in Jan. with a fractured pelvis from an LA Shelter, she was in pain and couldn’t walk, so we immediately took her to our vet. She had surgery to secure her fractured pelvis. Four weeks after pelvic surgery, Sugar was evaluated by an eye specialist for cataract surgery. In March Sugar had cataract surgery on both eyes. After a lengthy recovery, Sugar can now see out of both eyes. She will need to continue receiving eye medication. Sugar is now ready to meet a forever person or family who would like her to be part of their life in the San Diego area.
