Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brie - 7 year old female purebred Miniature Schnauzer. Brie was rescued from an outlying LA shelter where she came in as a stray. She had an adopter that backed out at the last minute when they found she had been "exposed" to parvo (her cell mate at the shelter was diagnosed with parvo). Thankfully she did not contract the disease however she did come with a trunk full of other medical issues. Brie had lost 2 pounds while at the shelter and was down to 14 pounds. Her first stop after being rescued was at our groomers so we could get her cleaned up enough so a vet could properly exmaine (she was a matted mess). She wouldn't eat at all so next stop was our vets. They did a full work up on her including bloodwork (which thankfully was normal), we did a parvo test since she had been exposed which also thankfully was negative, they found numerous foxtails in her mouth which they removed and gave us pain meds and an appeitizer... after that she started eating and within a week she’s gained 2 pounds! The bad news is the vet found mammary tumors. So on May 20th she had surgery to spay her, had a dental and also to remove her mammary tumors. She's feeling much better and should be ready for a home by first of June. Brie is still thin at 16 pounds and should weigh closer to 18 pounds when she fills out.
