My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for some fun and excitement? I'm up for the job! Me and my big sissy Princess just love going on adventures and giving our human friends lots of good exercise out in the great outdoors. Whether you're in the mood for hiking, swimming or ball throwing, we're game.

We are the perfect companions for those who enjoy playing fetch and giving belly rubs. We love our human friends very much, and we like to show our affection by making them laugh! They tell me that I'm kind of a character with my rakish grin and playful demeanor. It's nearly impossible to not smile in my presence!

True to my breed, I'm loyal and loving through and through. I also have a few quirks that carried over from my hard luck life back in California, where I struggled with shelter life. They almost split me and my sis apart, but Final Frontier swooped in and saved the day. As I said, I'm Lucky!

So I'm optimistic that another hero will step right up and take the two of us home. Our ideal adopter would have experience with German Shepherds and the patience to give us slow introductions to new people. We will also need a backyard for running and playing.

So what do you say? Are you feeling Lucky? Sorry, couldn't help myself! Please come meet us today so we can show you all that we have to offer!

Additional adoption info

Many of our rescued dogs have a history of behavior issues and were in danger of being killed for behavior in a pound or shelter. We take the time to evaluate and provide any needed training before adopting out our dogs, and we're looking for safe, loving homes.

More about this rescue

Our group of volunteers and advocates save rehabilitatable and manageable dogs in danger of being killed at Austin, TX area shelters. By saving the "Final Frontier Dogs"--the 1-2% still being killed--we can help develop best practices for the nation's shelters.
