We found Harvey on the street and took him in to find his owners. After 3 wks of searching we decided to keep him. After moving to a new area and getting the puppy we planned for we began to see our home is not the best for him. He loves people, is fine with cats (he will chase if they run) but is pretty dog aggressive. He can nip at young kids who don’t comprehend boundaries. He also began marking inside as our other dog got older. He’s around 3 yrs old, is very sweet and definitely a lap dog! I’m hoping to find him a home with no other dogs or small children. We have put months and a lot of money into training and will not rehome him if we feel the new owners are not dedicated to his continued training. We recommend repeated meetings and a transition period where he can meet the whole family before committing to adopting. My biggest fear is him bouncing from home to home because someone is unwilling to give him the care and training he needs, or doesn’t understand his personality.
