Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IN PLANO, TEXAS
Meet Bailey – gorgeous 2.5 yo female toy Aussie. She is a typical velcro-dog and loves to be petted. Her fur is soft and grows long – she needs regular grooming. She is low energy and very submissive. Good with adults and dogs of different sizes. We are not sure about cats, but she does not chase squirrels. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations and on HW prevention.
Bailey came to ASF extremely overweight, with night wheezing. Now she is healthy at her ideal weight 15 lb. We don’t know what happened in her life making her to stay almost invisible in the corner and to not move. Her weight was affecting her mobility and breathing. In her foster home Bailey received high quality nutrition and had daily exercise: walked 2 times a day and up/down stairs. After her spay surgery she quickly gained some weight again due to limited physical activity. She seems to be allergic to chicken kibble but does well on other protein sources.
In her forever home Bailey needs constant exercising. Ideal adopter for Bailey would be an active person with strong leadership skills, willing and able to walk with her twice a day for minimum 2 miles. A staircase in the house is a plus. A young playful dog of similar size would be ideal – she loves to play with a gentle partner. Calm and balanced pack will give her confidence she needs.
Bailey does not require crating, stays of the furniture and other places if you set limits. She will follow her person everywhere and is very affectionate. She communicates well and will make you laugh. She is still shy and may submissively urinate if unknown person tries to touch her – please be patient, and you will be greatly rewarded by her unconditional loyalty.
Bailey if fostered in Plano TX and will be adopted locally to ensure proper support to adoptive parents and her own well being.
