Here's what the humans have to say about me:
THIS IS A COURTESY POST! START HAS NO FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS ANIMAL. If interested in meeting Ginger, please email dscradopt@gmail.com and ask for an adoption application or contact @thecaninecondition on instagram or facebook. Approved applicants can meet Ginger in the Los Angeles area. She is not being adopted out to anyone outside of Los Angeles.
----
Gorgeous Ginger is a fantastic dog. Ginger's momma dog Candy was rescued while pregnant and gave birth to 5 puppies - 2 males and 3 females in February of 2017. Ginger was one of the puppies. At 12 weeks old all were adopted even the momma dog. When Ginger turned 1 year old her adopting family who lived in Pennsylvania returned her to the rescue. The parents were getting a divorce and no one could continue to care for her. Ginger went back to Georgia.
For a whole year Ginger was in foster care with Deep South Canine Rescue. She won the hearts of all volunteers and everyone who met her locally but she did not receive any applications for adoption. A previous adopter of Deep South Canine Rescue offered to foster Ginger in Los Angeles so she can have more opportunities to meet and greet a forever family.
Ginger is still very much a puppy. She has young pup energy. She loves to play. She did live with 4 kids in her previous home and lives with one in her current foster home as well as with other dogs. She gets along with all dogs. She is house trained and crate trained but does not need a crate. She is a very good dog. She walks well on leash. She is not a barker.
Her current foster mom says:
"Ginger is always happy. We do monitor her play with our young dog because they have a lot of energy together but around our senior dogs, Ginger is completely calm and never tries to instigate harsh play. She reads people's and others dogs' energy very well. She is super smart. She sits on command and gives the paw shake. She comes to you when called. She sleeps like a baby in her dog bed with her blankie. Ginger gets 1-2 mile walks a day and that allows her to burn off her excitable energy. She is always happy to lounge and sleep or just hang out in the house and be loved on as well. She will play fetch with dog toys and does not destroy them. We cannot say enough good things about Ginger."
