Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stella is looking for her forever home. #1...Stella is a housedog! She loves to hang out on the couch on her cover and watch movies or a good sports game. We are looking for a retired couple or someone who isn't going to stick her in a crate for 8 hours a day and then crate her again when you take the kids to their activities. A work at home person or take your dog to work person would work. #2....YOU MUST HAVE A FENCED YARD. This girl has energy and she loves to run like the wind when she races outside. She is 100% housebroken. She barks only when people are coming to our house. #3....She requires a super patient person becasue she is a bit timid. Her previous owner did NOT do a good job of socializing with strangers. When we take her to the vet or groomer, she takes a lot of time and patience to get her inside. She did great with the vet and the groomer loves her but getting her into a strange place takes patience. #4...She is a dog. She does shed like any Lab :-) She is somewhat a sloppy drinker...so put her water bowl on a carpet! She eats her dog food and is NOT picky! #5....She is a WONDERFUL COMPANION. She is a shadow and will follow me from room to room. I baby gate her out of certain rooms and she is fine with that but she waits for me a few feet from the gate. She would love to sleep with us, but, she isn't allow on our bed. She rides well in our car. #6...She loves other dogs and cats. Please, note that we have numerous cats in our rescue. She is great with all of them except 1. If a cat runs, she will chase. If it stops, she stops. If it smacks her, she is a coward.
It seems to take her a week or two to adjust to new people....at least that is what it took for her to bond with my husband and I. The first couple of days was EXTRA WORK FOR ME because she was fearful of my husband. She would not go outside, she would not come into the basement for Jeff but she would for me. So, until she trusted Jeff, I had to let her out, bring her in...I think you get the picture.
