My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Silver is back with us again. He was returned after less than a week because of his shyness. He is a sweet, cuddly boy that sleeps on you every night (on your back if possible LOL) and is such a wonderful cat. I would keep him if I could. Keep in mind that he is going to need some patience. He has been with us for over a year and it will take time for him to adjust. Weeks not days. Trust us. Your investment in this handsome boy will be returned to your in something better than silver and gold.....in LOVE.

Silver has the most gorgeous gold or bronze colored eyes. Silver is a young boy. He's about 5-6 years old. He was a little bit shy but he has come around very well and would do well in a quiet home. He has a lovely, easy to maintain coat.

Silver does have stomatitis which means that eventually his teeth or the majority of his teeth will have to be pulled. This means that anyone who adopts him needs to go into the adoption knowing that he could eventually have some dental work that needs to be done. Done by the right vet and in the proper way, his dental work does not have to be ridiculously expensive. A dental at our that clinic is only $120 plus extractions. Because of this we are waiving Silver's adoption fee to the right home only.

We will not be waiving the requirements for adopters. All adopters must complete the application process and be approved.

Please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. His adoption fee will be waived for the right home. We will be the ones to determine which is the right home.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
