Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ace is a truly special dog. He is sweet, friendly, playful, and has wonderful house manners. He has been in a home as a pet for several years, but was just returned to us because he nipped the baby in the household. Ace is a wonderful dog, but will need to go to a home without small children (under 6 years old). He does fine with older children, as long as they are well-behaved and do not get in his face, especially while he is lying down or sleeping. Toddlers and very young children do not understand that dogs can become frightened when they are disturbed while lying down. Other than the one incident with the baby, Ace has been very people-oriented. He loves hugs and would make an excellent therapy dog to go to nursing homes. He does well with other dogs, rides fine in a cr, already knows how to go up and down stairs, enjoys riding in a boat, and loves the beach. He walks quietly by your side while on leash, and is such a handsome dog he is certain to be noticed wherever he goes. Ace just turned 7 years old, so we consider him a senior dog. That means, he has an adoption fee of only $150. Ace is around 80 lbs. right now, but needs to loose a few pounds. A good weight for him is about 75-76 lbs. Ace has lived with cats (his best friend in his home was "Butters", the cat). He has a typical calm, easy-going, good-natured personality that greyhounds are known for. He loves his squeaky toys and prefers stuffies--he is shown in the photo with his duck. He isn't interested in balls or rubber toys. His favorite treat is peanut butter, and he also enjoys pizza crusts. We do not recommend rawhides for him. He is a "furniture" dog and likes nothing better than to lie with you on the sofa--you will need a large sofa for this purpose. Ace comes with lots of stuffie toys, leash and collar, grooming mit, toothbrush, tooth gel, and an adoption guide. He is neutered, has had his teeth cleaned, all vaccines including 3-yr rabies, and is microchipped. If you are looking for a strikingly handsome greyhound with a super personality and great house manners, please call us at 813/272-2332 to meet Ace.
