Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Matteo means "God's gift" and it certainly seems that divine intervention saved this sweet kitten.
This small tuxedo cat meowed softly by the side of the road on a stormy February night. Matteo was stuck in the snow and meowed softly for help.. A passing child scooped him up and carried him home. It soon became apparent, however, that Matteo was severely injured.
Our veterinarian found that he had both a fractured pelvis and femur-likely from being struck by a car.. What wasn't broken, however, was Matteo's amazing spirit. While at the vet's office-he charmed the staff, used his front paws to play with toys and just never stopped purring.
If Matteo wasn't giving up-neither were we!
Matteo spent over 2 months on crate rest in his foster home but his engaging personality continued to shine through. Matteo loves just about everything and everybody! As his vet has said at each visit-"this is just one cool cat!'
Matteo is outgoing, playful, entertaining and just plain adorable. He now runs, jumps and plays with enthusiasm. If you watch carefully, you may notice a very slight limp but this does not limit him in any way.
Matteo loves people of all ages. Children, in particular, seem to gravitate towards him. He is good with other cats and has met some large dogs in his foster home. After a long road to recover, Matteo is ready to find his way home!
Matteo is less than one year of age. He tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, is vaccinated, neutered, and litter trained. He currently resides in a foster home where visits are welcome. For more information, contact foster mom DiAnne 570-490-4117 or cassieleo@aol.com
