My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Figaro 1 came in to the Goathouse as a stray in January of 2014.
As is often the case with black cats, Figaro has been overlooked for many years. Fortunately, he has been safe and taken care of at the refuge for all these years. If you would like to meet Figaro and possibly give him a forever home, please come visit.

APPROX DOB: 1/10/2013

If interested in adopting from the Goathouse Refuge, please plan to take the following steps required in our adoption process:

1. Come for a Visit

2. Complete our online application: Visit our website (click link above of go to www.goathouserefuge.org under the 'adopt' tab).

3. Home Visit: All adoption applications will be reviewed by the refuge staff, and if the applicant seems to be a good fit for the cat(s) of interest, the refuge will contact the interested party to set up a home visit. Only after a representative of the refuge conducts a home visit then consider continuing with the adoption process.

More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
