Mason is a WONDERFUL dog. He is well-behaved, good-natured, affectionate and sweet, and completely non-aggressive. A bit shy at first for new things, he eventually dives in once he understands the world, that up until now, he has been somewhat deprived from. Mason was rescued from the Hesperia Animal Control in the high desert. He is about the age of two and weighs about 9 lbs. He is much cuter in person than in photos, because his personality is so adorable and upbeat. Meeting him makes one fully understand what a total sweetheart he really is!
Mason gets along with all other dogs large and small and is very comfortable in a pack. He is very people-oriented, and is most likely cat-safe and kid-safe (though this has not been tested), due to his great nature, and size. He is light reddish blonde, and has the longer legs for walking and hiking and is actually quite spritely and agile. He also knows how to calm down and chill; I often find him independently sunning himself on the porch (he loves love, and can be attention-seeking like all dogs, but does not need to be with me 24/7). He is not a picky eater and always eats his meal and loves treats! He is crate-trained and sleeps quietly, not making any type of fuss, since the very first night from the shelter. He is doing very well in his potty routine (however, potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment).
Mason is a fairly versatile dog that can be placed in an array of situations. A porch or small yard where he can sun himself (like I find most Chihuahuas do, to keep warm!) is a plus. Another doggie to be his friend is also a plus. Mason is great friends with another very beautiful dog here at the rescue, named Willow, a 30 lb. Shepherd mix. It is not a requirement that they go together, nor is it my expectation, however, if one is looking for two great dogs together, they are a good match. Again, they are not considered a bonded pair. Please do not NOT ask me about Mason due to this comment.
Mason is just a delightful happy love bug that will make someone a fantastic pet and companion. Because he has the longer legs, he can learn to talk walks and even hike. He is obviously very easy to transport due to his size. I am truly hoping somewhat sees what a gem of a dog Mason is; his personality is stellar!
NOTE: We only adopt dogs as primarily INDOOR dogs. Dogs can go outside to play, potty, to sun themselves at will, but should never be excluded to an outside area. You do not need to give a dog the run of the entire house, and an appropriate sized wire crate works very well during a transitional phase.
Mason is neutered, fully vaccinated, Front-lined, dewormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Mason, email Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. In the email, please provide some information about your home, family, other pets, and your dog experience. Please also check your spam folder for an email reply from the rescue. If you wish, please also provide a phone number. Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue is a private, home-based rescue. We seek stable homes that can provide a loving environment for the dogs in our care. There is an application process that precedes meeting a dog (applications are not online). The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue unless you do not receive a response from your email within 24 hours (evening to night emails may get a response the following morning). Please also visit my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and go to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process.
