Hermey and Cornelius are a gorgeous pair of neutered Peruvian guinea pigs who arrived in the Rescue on Christmas day. Hermey is brown and white with a cream-colored rump and Cornelius is brown and white with cream streaks. The boys, now about a year old, were originally purchased at a pet store and their previous owner had them for about 9 months. A relative was moving in and they did not have room to keep them. The family was nervous about handling them so they were not held or handled very often.
The boys are gentle but very shy and a bit skittish due to the lack of handling. They are interested in what is going on around them and have no problem weeking loudly when they hear a plastic bag. They are working up their courage to take veggie snacks from your hand. Peruvians require daily grooming and occasional baths and hair trims. They are still quite nervous when handled and because of these reasons we would like to adopt them out to a home without small children, small dogs or cats. They would thrive in a forever home with an experienced adopter who can provide lots of attention, patience and is up to the challenge of keeping their spectacular locks looking fabulous.
These two piggies have an excellent appetite for Oxbow pellets and Timothy hay. The boys love to eat and they have yet to meet a veggie that they won't try! Hermey and Cornelius need to live in a Rescue-required Cubes and Coroplast cage of at least 2 cubes by 4 cubes located in a room the family spends time in so everyone can enjoy their company.
The adoption fee for Hermey and Cornelius is $90 (neutered male -$45/each). Are you interested in finding out more about adopting this lovable pair?
