My story

Howdy, I am Jewel, a sparking gem of a young girl from the lone star state. I've come 2500 miles to the dog loving northwest to seek my forever family!
I was picked up as a stray and then spent time in a small cage with two other dogs, until my rescuer found me and sent me to Portland; I am one lucky dog!

I’m a one year old, 35 pound Cattle Dog mix.

I am active and affectionate! I love to fetch balls, play with other dogs, go for walks, romp in water, and snuggle!! I am crate trained, house trained, I've had several great foster parents who have taught me great manners and commands. I am a great hiking, camping and horse trail dog.

I am looking for a home where I will have lots of play time, as I am young and have energy to burn. A home with a fenced yard is a must have for me. I would love a home with another playful dog, and who would be my buddy and keep me well romped! I'm currently living with an adoptable sister I LOVE! Hinty hint!

I do well with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and both men and women. I must admit I have a soft spot for the guys. I'll need a strong human to guide me.
