My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy everyone, my name is Cash and my family who had me since I was a puppy took me to a high kill shelter just because their new baby was allergic to me. I'm so glad Moonsong decided to swoop in and rescue me! The nice lady who took me from the shelter had a pretty female Malamute that I got to hang out and play with until I headed on to Boise. She even took me to the snow for a little fun. I'm now in a nice foster home with a couple other dogs that are a lot smaller than me. They sometimes bark at me, but I just want to play with them.

I love hanging out with people and I enjoy the company of both female and male dogs. My foster home has discovered that I am super snuggly and love to lay my head on people if they won't let me lay on top of them! I am still kind of puppy like and will occsionally jump up but it's more to just give you a hug. I do love to lean, like most Mals. I have been taught to sit and wait nicely for my meals but I do still have a little habit of begging from the humans when they are eating, but they are working on helping me with that one. I do LOVE water and nearly pulled my foster dad into the river! I haven't been challenging the fence in the back yard here at all and it's about 4 feet high. I still like to chew and have destroyed a number of toys. One of my favorite things to do is get chased by dogs or people - especially when I have a toy in my mouth. I love to play keep away.

I'm pretty laid back and everyone says I have a sweet temperament. I am big, though, so some dogs might get a bit intimidated by my size. I just want to be everyone's friend. I have lived with young children and was gentle with them, but I am big, so I could possibly knock over toddlers. I am housebroken, ride well in vehicles, walk well on leash, but will pull at first like most Mals. I can be leash reactive when I see other dogs and will need some work on that - I just get so frustrated that I can't go meet every dog I see! I am crate trained but really don't like being in there much. I have been a good boy when left to roam free in the house and haven't had any accidents or destroyed anything. I'd really enjoy a home with another younger, big friendly dog to play with. Please get in touch with my contact below if you have any questions. I'm ready for a home that will keep me forever!
