Here's what the humans have to say about me:
BUZZ has been a work in progress for over a year. He has overcome great obstacles just to survive, and now he is ready for a home of his own. When he was picked up off the streets in November 2017, he was a sorry-looking cat, and not too friendly either. During his initial vet visit he was found to have serious injuries: three pelvic fractures and a tail pull injury which could make him incontinent (nerve damage). Also very dirty and infested with worms.
A foster home was found with a volunteer knowledgeable about injured animals and their care. Buzz settled in for at least 12 weeks of cage rest to heal the pelvis. As the fractures healed, he was able to walk around just fine. Next was the amputation of his paralyzed tail, and neuter, with more time to heal and lots of medications. Now free from pain and feeling a lot better, Buzz began to show his sweet personality. He began to play, loved to eat and to be brushed. He is quite tolerant of taking meds, having gotten so many.
After about six months, Buzz returned to the shelter and moved into one of the smaller rooms. He is shy with strangers but loves other cats, and has many cat friends. Just recently his last medical problem was repaired. He had surgery on his left eyelid for entropion (inward-turning eyelid), and no longer needs eye lubricant drops. His incontinence problem is also much improved. He still has occasional little “accidents” but is improving all the time. He can run and climb the cat tree with great speed. Only one small dietary restriction – avoid canned food with gravy, which can give him diarrhea. (Keeping his stool firm is of course very helpful to his control problem.)
After all this, Buzz is finally ready for a real home with a family of his own, preferably a home with some new cat friends. He has become a very sweet kitty. He is a really good-looking black and white medium-haired fellow, about 4 or 5 years old, with a stubby little tail. His foster mom is very impressed with his stamina and resilience. She says that “someone will be lucky to adopt him!” If you think you could be that special “someone”, come on over and meet Buzz.
